That was a very traditional English performance. Get one goal and decide to sit in their own box and wait it out against a team that will inevitably score given all the space they need for half an hour. I'm used to it by now.
Even less likely to work when none of your players ever attempt nonsense like that for their club teams so it's not like they've had practice at it either
Yeah, the defend the box strategy never works. Staying aggressive is what is needed when the opponent is on the back foot. The English team decided to be spectators. I'm surprised they made it this far.
