If we have to rely on amphibious warfare lessons from WW2 in a war with China then we are screwed. The brave Marines storming the beach at Tinian didn’t have to face attack helicopters, long range missiles and the swarms of UAVs that both sides would have.

Don’t worry. The big lesson is … to have complete control of the area, overwhelming fire support, and a massive overmatch in numbers. This seems as insightful as telling sports teams that the key to winning games is to run faster, hit harder, and score more points than the opponent does.
