In hindsight, of course we won, I was 6'9 at 16, even the tallest women players were 5 or 6 inches shorter. It's not a value judgement, that team was the best female team in the country, losing to high schoolers doesn't take from their quality at all, it's just two different things.

But there's also a difference between a AAA high school team and a random guy on the street. And random guys on the street are saying, "Those high school boys could beat women, and that means I could beat a WNBA player, because I'm a man."

Also, I don't know if it was different then (or if it's different in different sports), but at least in hockey, the top Canadian girls almost all get recruited to US colleges. If you look at the PWHL draft, there are very few coming from Canadian colleges--the Canadian players were on US NCAA teams.

And separating it into discrete skills makes things interesting. The Ottawa Charge and Sens players who weren't at the Olympics had a skills competition, and the men won for speed, but they were pretty even on most of the others.
