Empirically this is false. Only few former SD supporters now vote for the radical right.

Seems like social democratic parties are falling over themselves to prove Ernst Thälmann right about who and what they are.

Doesn't your argument focus too much on the extremes? 'SD parties have not not lost working class to the radical right'. Maybe, but they háve lost them to the mainstream right. 'Strong reduction of immigration reduces SD support', but posing a limit to migration increases it. All from your research.

Yes this won’t help #Starmer but what about #Denmark ?

Most importantly, your stance towards immigration should not be dominated by party tactics, but informed by fundamental democratic values, such as the human right to asylum. I think this is the key step in the wrong direction that some parties take right now, and that it undermines democracies.

Net immigration of 900,000 is undeniably a lot though

And yet they still do it, instead of standing up for and positively promoting social democratic values.

And what if SD would not be getting tougher on immigration on electoral grounds but purely on substantive grounds? Like the negative effects of too high immigration on (housing, environment, healthcare) and the public backing for (real) refugee policies?
