Supply and demand. Supply went down when Iran closed Hormuz, which is part of the reason why prices increased as 20% of the world's petroleum comes through the straight. So the US government opened the reserves to increase supply to offset the loss and keep prices lower than they should be.

Unfortunately this only works as long as you have reserves, and since the US is led by incompetent bloodthirsty buffoons, the straight is still closed but the reserves are running out. Fuel prices are going to start spiking again as more countries use up their reserves.

Right. That isnt what i said though. All i said was his simple statement was wrong. This is how things get spread and nobody seems to fully grasp how shit works.
