I mean, the reason is fairly obvious. Thomas Massie is a decent favorite to win that seat and gain an incumbent advantage. Trump doesn't like Thomas Massie. R's are scared shitless of disappointing their Cheeto Messiah more than they are of losing 1 vote for 6 months.
