Iran could probably end the war tomorrow by offering to cut Trump in on the toll they want to charge for using the Strait.

What's funny is some version of this seems like the most likely outcome if this ends anytime soon.
Iran keeps control of the Strait (and the implied threat of the ability to cut off the oil supply whenever). They pay the US/Trump some share of revenue.
Trump gets to claim victory like he did in Venezuela- that he's bringing the US oil & making the US money.
Iran formalizes real power over the Strait/world oil supply, drives wedge between US/Israel.
Guessing the rest of any deal would look a lot like the JCPOA.
