Dig. As long as a joke is just a joke, I can laugh at myself as well

Hopefully a whole day *at least* on the ‘79 East Coast Spring tour right after Brent joined 😉

while i am not a fan of their music most of the deadheads i have encountered in my life have been pretty cool, pretty chill, and very friendly. (yes there are ALWAYS exceptions but they are not the rule)

Hearing the transition during China>Rider on the Europe '72 album was the start. Then went to a show and that sealed the deal.

It’s like Vegas, for some of us. What happened on the bus, shall stay in the bus.

Episode V: the boompire strikes back

yawn.

I happen to catch a concert of Death Star Orchestra a few years back and got hooked. I’m in my 70’s and big classic rock fan but ignored the Dead for a long time. I love them now and especially Bob Weir side of things

It started for me at Watkins Glen . I was 14 so it didn’t really sink in but the people were so cool . I went to a couple of more shows but 1978 in Giza it became etched in my bones . From that point on vacations determined on where they would be playing.

I was looking for a baggie and was told the parking lot of the Grateful Dead concert was the place to find it. Every person I talked to inside the parking lot, every person asked if I was going inside to attend the concert. At that point I figured there was something to see inside, next tour I went

Hopefully you know about this! consequence.net/2026/02/gill...

Not a dead head, but a wonderful experience with one. Pa turnpike rest stop with a guy who almost was. He instead chose college, but loved them. I’m a massive DMB fan, which I hear is similar to the Deadheads. I passed on a scratched CD of DMB tunes and wished him well. Wonderful conversation.

Stoked! Thank you!

Meaningless out of tune culturally blank empty drug culture. No social values. No message of peace and love like the Woodstock generation started. We can do better, and we have.

not liking the Dead is fine but this kind of sounds like you’ve never heard a Dead lyric

Seriously?? All I hear is amateur unintelligible dialog and out of tune instruments! From their first release to the latest. They attract dopers who are not in it for cultural growth. There is a good reason why they are called dead heads.

all right. have fun not enjoying things

I hear the tone dead part and shut it off. Singing and playing out of tune is not professional and probably caused by intoxication. Only other intoxicated people would enjoy that. I enjoy hemp in moderation but not in excess.

I saw the Dead in Madison, WI in the early 70@. They were awesome!

I was told there was a bus and I was to get on it. That is how I became a deadhead. I listened to the lore from an older cousin and he made some outlandish claims that I had to check into. I confirmed that shenanigans were going on at a show at Soldier Field as my first show 6-18-93. Rain at times.
