OK, was a bit mawkish, but it did warm my cynical old heart that individuals of two different species could make a connection and try to help each other out.
I really like it but it does suffer from being shorter than the book. Things take more time, the disaster story is more involved, etc.
The alien is more of a surprise as it starts and feels just like The Martian for a while and then it's like WTF!
But I liked the film some cores of the book .
I forgot to report back on this.
It made me uncomfortable.
It made me smile a few times.
It made me laugh with the interactions.
It made me cry.
Thoroughly enjoyed it.
