This is Monstrous…. These people are really arguing in court that terminally ill people shouldn't be exempt from work requirements. So even if you have been diagnosed with terminal cancer you haver to prove you are too sick to work if you need Medicaid. Dystopian.

Actually, they're making it pretty clear that if "Medicare for All" was a thing, they'd be ready, willing and able to force people off of it, and to manipulate, alter or repeal it whenever they're in charge. It would be subject to the exact same machinations in play right now.

And who defines too sick to work? Is is too sick to work the job the person was employed at, or too sick to work *any* job? Will terminally ill people have to go job hunting for jobs they can do? This work requirement also applies to SNAP benefits, I believe.

Well, let’s us not forget the horrors that followed the French uprisings. I hesitate to be judge and jury over other’s lives because I am so imperfect myself. But, yes, justice needs to be done and my hope that we can begin that in January 2027: speedily, lawfully, and humanely. ❤️

The pathways to Medicaid and Medicare aren’t connected. They ARE trying to push Medicare-eligible people away from traditional Medicare and toward Part C for that reason you mention, but that has nothing to do with trying to push people off of Medicaid.

I'm a T1D farmer and I'm having to make my own damn document to prove i work and am on cash 24/7 because... It's an alpaca farm and I'm always on call. It's so stupid, cruelty is the point, etc. I think of how many people have to go through extra medical hoops too now and just 🤬🤬🤬

My friend who has terminal cancer a writer and she didn’t have any family to support her so she’s been continuing her job until this week. She’s going onto hospice and she was denied disability. I’m furious. They say she can write in bed! She’s had brain radiation. She can barely get out of bed.

I have a seriously ill friend who has to report her job search efforts monthly to unemployment. Among the job listings they've sent her (she's a writer) is...farrier.

Omg, hilarious & horrible. Had social security make up jobs like that for me when I had terminal brain cancer (I am one of the lucky few who lived) Stress like that is not good when ill

I’ve always thought it’s insane that if a person goes on medical disability, they typically have to wait TWO YEARS before Medicare kicks in. So… they want to see if you’ll die before they give you the ability to see a doctor?

My sister had breast cancer and beat it. Or, so she thought. When it came back it was all over and she couldn’t work. She applied for disability and it was approved 2 days after she died.

Disability social security is difficult to get & takes time. Just believe the Drs that a person has disabling illness Been there, one of the few who survived brain cancer

SSDI didn't add my disabling condition to conditions SSDI covered until AFTER my Disability claim was adjudicated/denied. So I get it.
