This is great news, it will make DC elections more fair and democratic, and it codifies the overwhelming support for I-83 from voters two years ago. Thanks to all the Councilmembers who voted in support of opening DC primaries to independent voters!

And this has officially passed! Primaries will be open to independent voters starting in 2028. Mendo and Felder vote no, Crawford and and Trayon White vote present.
