Once the project and sale are both live, send an email through Itch (under the Interact menu) on the previous project to let them know about the new title and 100% discount. That way, you let people know and some will choose to pay for the (free) new project to show support. 2/2

That gives you the visibility of the new project, while still giving existing customers the updated version for free. Alternatively, you can upload a new version on the existing project and the existing customers will automatically have access for free. You can send an email as well, for visibility.
