The examples listed by Prince Ali above are classic examples of how the system works and how it will continue to work whoever the president is unless the entire model is overhauled. It’s leadership by carrot and stick by an all powerful leader at the top. This runs through regional confeds too.

What kind of leadership is this? Infantino calling senior staff to see him in Rabat and not at HQ in Zurich. So many staff feel discombobulated by events of the past week and perhaps a visit from the boss might have calmed tensions a little. But, no, summons staff to Morocco which still backs him

Figo’s intervention would be a lot more significant if he wasn’t a paid for advisor at Uefa. Figo has been part of this culture for quite some time. Will be interesting to see if some of those FIFA legends start to speak out too.

Also heard that some of the people who were asked to go to Morocco for this meeting were anxious about going there for it given the high tension. Most having had to travel from Zurich, some asking why Infantino could not have met them at FIFA’s HQ, where they would have felt more comfortable.

The reason they have all been summoned to Morocco is because Infantino is their on holiday with his family. That is kind of mad from an optics point of view given the current circumstances. Has the look of a royal summoning his court for a dressing down.

FIfA’s secretary general and other top brass that traveled to Morocco to meet with embattled Gianni Infantino appear to have folded without much of a fight and fallen into line behind Gianni Infantino. Many owe their careers to him and perhaps that was most important to them in the end.

Nobody ever had confidence in Infantino. A totally self-serving, corrupt, mediocrity, who somehow attained the levers of power at FIFA and then single handedly set about ruining the beautiful game ever since. Prior, he was a 2nd rate lawyer, without any achievement of note.

It would make much more sense for one person to go to meet with lots of people over lots of people going to meet with one person. Optics being off is sort of minimising how bad it looks to me tbh Where is that man’s mind at because it does not seem to be working right
