Game design and fiction writing are, for whatever reason, two jobs that most people think they could do instantly at a high standard, with zero experience or evidence. I don’t know if it was a smart idea to focus on both as a profession. Certainly an occasionally frustrating idea.

granted it's not esoteric, but this reminded me of explaining to a design manager why designers pushing vibecode to prod is not a good idea & getting countered with "saw it working though" thank you, very infuriating :D a toast to any fellows having to put up with Dunning-Kruger mountaineers 🥂
