I'm extremely anti-car in the city, and anti-car entitlement everywhere. I know people are clueless about their socio-economic status (have been lied to about it) when they talk about poors needing their cars. Truly poor people don't have cars! They are doing that hour on the bus with babies!

I grew up in a rural area, a lot of my coworkers when I was in high school had no option other than a taxi, hitch hiking, or cycling on dangerous roads to work. Some walked miles on those dangerous roads.

and also, advocates will say something like "vehicles aren't safe at the size they are now" and people will say "but I NEED my Canyonero because I have a *modestly sized* family" because all those huge Catholic families in the 60s had Escalades, Janet?
