Not when it's the publisher doing the editing before they reprint. It's not like they are gathering the already existing copies, then editing them, they edit it before the reprint with editing authors making changes.

Agree, but the publisher doesn’t go destroy old copies…there is a trail of editorial auditable context in physical copies, that a digital text can never replicate. Go bark up a tree worth your time to argue about.
