Europe’s weak reaction to Spain’s migrant crisis - The reactions of European capitals to the #Ceuta influx were hasty, ill-informed and self-serving. What was the issue? Travellers from the enclave have to show passports and visas to enter the Spanish mainland. www.ft.com/content/8faf... via @FT

This is hardly a coincidence! Analysts at Israel-funded think tanks argued back in April that Israel should help Morocco take over Ceuta in order to punish Spain.

Maybe the EU’s reaction was not that weak. The crisis was resolved very quickly and Morocco was likely given little choice but to accept back the people who crossed the border. That means some leverage was applied. European governments did not help, but their communiqué was watered down in the end.

It was a test. The moroccan regime tested us. And we fail.
