It was so good, I’m really curious what will happen now that the general public has been exposed to the concept of the Backrooms

What is this!? A backrooms for ants!? It needs to be… at least 3 times bigger!

It's been weird seeing how rocky the reception has been online, I felt they did a great job making it its own thing!

Regirock posting aside yeah good movie well made

I want to watch both and this Obsession SO bad but I am such a wuss when it comes to jumpscares haha

You guys can't keep getting away with this

I genuinely cannot fathom how someone can see this and say “it has no plot or story” LIKE DID WE SEE THE SAME MOVIE?! I can understand it not being for everyone, as it’s very artistic and particular, but it’s got more beneath the surface than any other movie I’ve seen this year!

Also I still can’t believe some people literally said they wanted MORE jumpscares, like did we not learn from the past 10+ years of horror movies that those don’t build atmosphere?!

Either way, I’m also on the same boat of thinking about this film and all of the implications it has for its world. I keep going back to random scenes and asking, “Does this correlate to this other thing?” Even when it’s something like a piece of furniture!

Kane does a great job at knowing when a jumpscare is appropriate, and always sets it up as a way to overwhelm the viewer rather than to release tension

Gonna rewatch it today! I think i finally understand how it could have been a 10/10 (Kane should get me on the sequel for this): Instead of immediately jumping from chaos to Mary's perspective, there should have been an extra ~15 mins of Clark aimlessly wandering around and processing what he just-

-did. Would make the backrooms feel larger and give a chance to develop him more. He slowly breaks, and at the end perhaps he find a copy of a childhood location of his. He gives up, talks to the camera a-la Found Footage #3, leaves it, THEN the creature picks it up.

Also could have made the dinner scene slightly shorter and remove the severed head in the fridge, that was really goofy. Overall the movie really needed an extra ~20 mins. I feel my addition would make Clark's madness feel smoother, more believable and make the dinner scene way better.
