I have gotten confirmation from the City that last night's fireworks were the unexploded shells from Canada Day. It was deemed by Canadian Heritage that it was safer to dispose of them that way rather than dismantle and move them, so they took this step in conjunction with Bluesfest.

So. Rather than plan something that people might enjoy, they just wasted them. That’s beyond absurd. And further, they managed to annoy the neighbors instead of bringing joy. So sad.

I'll say for the moment that those seemed to have been let off over a very compressed timeframe and so were very intense.
