Agree! And I’d add, that Atlantic piece misses 2 critical dimensions: 1. The HUGE financial conflicts of interest at play (MAHA folks making 🤑 from peddling useless or harmful “remedies”) 2. The politics at play: MAHA folks—many of whom oppose abortion & vaccines—picked Trump as a voting bloc
public health guyi think i’m landing on all this tonight: i get the high importance of being welcoming to disillusioned MAHA aligned normies with open arms—something we do for all people as *public* health. but we also don’t need to pander to them, given the risks/unintended consequences involved
