I will say as a service industry physical laborer in the furry community we need to acknowledge how bad of a problem we have uplifting the blue collar workforce that makes up most of our community like. i see posts celebrating The STEM and art and medical but never our postal workers or janitors.

Is most of the community blue collar? It never used to be.

It is a little insiduous that the prevalent stereotype is that most furries have jobs in IT and tons of disposable income (hence the suits and commissions), but lord knows that's not the case for a -lot- of us.

They only care about people who have fursuits or make good art. They don't care about you if you're a common laborer who doesn't have time to develop art skills or afford a suit. It's really sad and I hate to see it.

Lately and for a while now, the furry community has been giving me the same vibe as high school with the cliques and in-crowds and all the same shit so many called Furry an escape from. Gets damn tiring to get a sense of deja vu.

A lot of us got fucked out of our field too, my broadcasting degree is a damn paperweight, the field is dead in this state

omg I made this commission for my partner back in 2021! :D

I work in tourism, accommodation & catering. I work 5 days a week usually split shifts, my day starts at 7 ends gone 22.00 hours. I'm fortunate to have employers who appreciate my efforts very much and who show it. I appreciate this is rare and always treat other service works with equal respect.

This this this this this thiiiiis I work at a yogurt factory We got furries doin’ all sorts of things!

holy shit wait yogurt factory??

I try.

One of my furry friends is my mechanic. One of the best thing about furries is the wide range of day jobs we have!

I was a postal worker in the netherlands for five months. minimum wage, broke two bicycles (that I had to replace on my own time and money), had to deal with freezing weather and the christmas mail surge.

complained ONCE to a furry friend. called my complaints rage bait and said I had the easier job of all time. its been like six months and I'm still mad. like sure it was part time and not like backbreaking work or anything. but also go fuck yourself and your climate controlled office.

I've spent my entire career in factories, currently as an old-fashioned machinist working on large pump equipment. I'm about as far from the striped-socks IT stereotype as you can get.

"Unskilled" laboreres in this community still face the same stigma and treatment that they face in the capitalist world. Some of you people still act like a hotel isn't staffed by living people. you wont not litter you might even not put your cart back.

the degree to which furries trash con hotels is so heartbreaking

All labor is skilled labor.
