Big African lady. Excellent value. I get a lot of brilliant names in my line of work. Danish Butt, Anderson Bevilacqua, Bogdan Pop...

Ответ для James is here too

Bogdan is one of my personal favourites, Bogdan is a truly delightful one to say out loud

Bruno is my favourite name. I would call myself Bruno if I could.

Why don't you? It's allowed.

Good idea! It would be a great Hobbit name as well.

That reminds me of two students I once taught. Bruno Jesus and his brother, Igor. Igor Jesus.

We have a Bogdan at work

It probably means something very cool, like warriors from olden times.

I am puzzled by the continuation of the name "Gaylord" in a culture of persistent homophobia (other than in cinematic childish humour) but I understand it does not mean what the infantile mind assumes, the root being "gaillard" (strong) in Old French.

I can't understand why so many Americans are called "Randy". FFS. That is just wrong, no matter how naive they are.

Also. The name "Fanny". Is anyone outside France (or Scotland, in the context of an insult) actually called this?

These days? No, unless it's a joke character ("Lady Fanny" in Ghosts) But it was the normal shortform for Stephanie, Theophania and Francis Both the anglophone vulgar usages come from an English person called it, poor sweet Fanny Adams was murdered and the other woman was a famous courtesan
