I understand now why luthiers charge what they do but for a different reason, it's shitty work. not hard. just shitty and tedious. I rather pay for tools vs the cost of a setup and learn a new skill vs paying for a setup every time I need one though 🧐

Good on ya! I'm not brave enough to adjust my own saddles/brides or the truss rod (especially!). I'd be too afraid to mess it up continuously trying to figure it out or break it!

it helps that my acoustic is only a $200 entry level Yamaha, so I was willing to take a risk in learning on it - if I screw it up that bad I can just get a new one. TAKE YOUR TIME. that's my best recommendation. if you're missing a tool for part of the job wait until you get that tool lol
