The DPT did have live Pertussis back 34ish yrs ago, and it was problematic. It was changed to a better killed version. Whooping cough (Pertussis) vaccine is a little like the Covid vaccine. It needs to be boosted, and you can still get sick...just not as bad once vaccinated.
