I keep "Poetry Magazine" in my bathroom and read that instead of more phone time and it's been a shockingly effective way for me to get through a lot of poems and find some I love.

Thank you! I got it from a woman who ran a gallery I used to sell art through. Poetry Magazine is pretty reasonably priced and has a range of stuff they print. Some hits, some misses, but overall good brain stretching. Lots of people on ebay have tons of back issues and will sell them cheap too.

And then you find some poem you really like and you go online and find the poet's got a few chapbooks out and those are never too expensive so they make good little treats to buy oneself.

I don't think bathroom reading is uncommon at all, but I think smartphones derailed a lot of peoples' traditional bathroom reading time. The harder part is WHAT is being read in the bathroom and I found poetry is just about right for picking up and putting down, but not a common bathroom genre.
