I agree with this only if (a) your goal is NCAA/pro or bust; and/or (b) you really can’t afford $5k/yr. None of my kids will play NCAA or pro but they have gotten incredible experiences from youth travel sports. Sure I’d love a more sensible and equitable system but these are our only options.
Kim McCauleyIf, at 13 years old, your kid isn't obviously the best player on their team and utterly smoking other kids in their age group, it's not worth your $5k a year and you are getting played. If you have ever been unsure whether your child is the best player on the field, stop spending the money.
