Early Utah Saints created the Relief & Health Societies because they believed in communal responsibility for the poor. Today, Saints vote for politicians like Mike Lee, who openly calls for dismantling federal programs such as Social Security, Medicare, & Medicaid. Some would call it a conundrum.
