One time in the late 90’s, Bruce Springsteen’s people called and actually wanted to mail order the Handsome Family discography for him. They didn’t ask for freebies, which I definitely would have sent. Then he used some of their music on his walk-in mixes for the next tour. Bless him and them. 2/2

“Hi. I’m calling for Bruce Springsteen and we’d…” “Ok. Who is this really? Dag?!” “We’d…” “Is that you, Chris??” “Sir, I *promise* I am calling for Bruce, and we just want to mailorder some CDs from you.” “Seriously? Mailorder?SERIOUSLY?” “Well, yes.” And they did. 2/2

It’s crazy. My life is crazy, and 98% just being somewhere at the right time. Can’t explain it. A nearly constant marvel. “Oh, it’s happening again.” Like, I met Walter Cronkite by an elevator once. He was small but very kind, and definitely had that voice.

"A Nearly Constant Marvel" would be a good name for a book or album 👍🏼
