I connect this directly to the "trauma" of ppl who have to tell their children what a trans person is, or who have to read pronouns in an e-mail sig. I wasn't there then, but I'm sure whites were complaining about the "trauma" of desegregated bathrooms 60 years ago. It's not new, really.
