This one is important. The Trump administration is attempting via various levers to create chaos for mail-in voting. In a 5-4 ruling, the Supreme Court shuts down one of these attempts, allowing states to continue to count ballots that were mailed before or on Election Day, even if they arrive later

First (but *not* last) ruling from #SCOTUS today is in Watson v. RNC. For a 5-4 majority (with Thomas, Alito, and Gorsuch, Kavanaugh dissenting), Justice Barrett holds that federal law does *not* bar states from counting late-arriving mail-in ballots that are postmarked on or before Election Day.

Yeah but the post office changed their policy on post marks recently so mail is no longer postmarked the day it is received at the post office, but rather whenever they choose to process the mail for delivery. This was done SPECIFICALLY so they could make sure not to postmark ballots in time.

Indeed. This doesn’t address all of their attack lines… just one. Still very important for people to get their ballots in (days) early and drop them off at official drop boxes if they can.
