Being a more left of centre Liberal, I was wary of Carney but voted for him as leader anyway because I figured he would be palatable to some Conservatives who didn't like what the party had become under Poilievre. Also because of things he said to reassure Canadians in the face of Trump's threats.

I would still vote for him today, despite knowing that he would turn a bit to the right. That said, I do not have to like everything he has done and his decisions on the pipeline and cuts to some programs are, I think, bad.

It will be interesting to see how all of this plays out in the end. I suspect he’ll be lauded for making some unpopular decisions at the time or, at least, unpopular because he didn’t spell the reasoning out on socials.
