To everyone who feels the need to repost every. Single. Piece of bad news you come across, S T O P . I get it, there are important things you need to raise awareness of, but if you repost every single little thing you come across, these things lose the impact you want them to have, FAST.

Tfw I have to unfollow people / mute people I follow (but then what's the point of following them) over them going all doom-y. Things that can be acted on are more valuable than just another piece of bad news. Put up the important things when and where they count.

There are some people who I genuinely just ignore reposts from now because every damn thing they repost is just ANOTHER thing to doomscroll over. I know things are difficult, to say the least, but you're not helping anyone by sharing every piece of catastrophic news at every opportunity you get.

Seriously. It’s a shame because someone will follow me, I’ll look at their profile, and if there’s a bunch of reposts I don’t follow back, even if there’s otherwise good posts by them mixed in. Lacking per-account repost toggling, this is the most effective way to curate my feed for my sanity.

Lots of reposts of art and such are one thing but when people's accounts are almost nothing but reposts of politics, community drama and political community drama... Then it's just too damn much...

There's a few people I've not just unfollowed but full-blown fell out with 'cause they wouldn't cut it the hell out with their performative activism even outside of social media! My patience with people who think they have to be in political pundit mode 24/7 is more razor thin than ever these days.
