I actually suggest that you read the entire speech. It’s not great, but it’s not saying what you say so go away and read the full thing instead of putting clips that aren’t accurate to support your own narrative.

You know, I'm not Jewish. If a Jewish person told me "This is anti-semitism, or if it's not, it can lead to a rise in anti-semitism", I would stop, listen and think twice. I'm not a Muslim, and if a Muslim person told me "This is Islamophobia", the same. 1/n

I'm not a trans person, and if a trans person told me "this is transphobia", I would also stop and think. It takes a special degree of arrogance to tell an immigrant in 🇬🇧 who is saying "This is xenophobia/racism", "Nah, read again, you are wrong, this is not racism". 2/n

These speeches by Mahmood and Starmer about their fantastic new immigration policies were designed to be interpreted as racist dog-whistles by the racist. They were designed as such by those well-paid speech-writers they have who understand how words will be interpreted. 3/n

But Ann Harries, who are apparently a White Briton, happy are you if you can live in SW 🇫🇷 and not have to check who's behind you and may have heard your British accent or you speaking English to your F&F. I don't have this luxury. 5/5
