There is an old Soviet joke. Three men in the gulag talk about why they are there.
1st Man: I spoke against Comrade Popov in 1931.
2nd Man: I spoke in favor of Comrade Popov in 1932.
3rd Man: I am Comrade Popov!
That is the kind of government we have now. It's a joke, but not funny.
