lf our current system/way of life broke down for whatever reason most people would struggle as we've lost a lot of the skills even our mothers had. My mum could cook, garden, sew, knit, quilt, crotchet, restore and build furniture, and make lampshades, picture frames and rugs!

One of things I tell youngsters who have limited formal quals - I have a degree and post grad qual - I can run 120 live conveyancing files, garden, sew and knit. Mr W left school at 16, he can do electrics, building work, plumbing, computing, water purification and all manner of practical skills!

l think people are inherently multi skilled but somehow people have been pushed into primarily being multi skilled in a work context. Hobbies seem to take up less time year on year for most people, at least until they retire. Which is sad because these are good activities to be able to do.
