i get what you mean as the 90s had tons of selfserious media but i grew up on the 95 movie as a intro to anime/GITS so im biased and still love it also for it's time it was groundbreaking since it was new tons then "that one with the dodgy Germanic imagery, machineguns and daft dog allusions.)" ??
