Just saw this question from a recent Funbag and immediately wondered what @edburmila.bsky.social would think of this description of Peoria, which I believe he once called "where hopes and dreams go to die"
I spend about 10-12 hours every year driving through Illinois and while I’m sure Peoria has those things (ballet? Really?) I would set myself on fire if I had to live anywhere besides Cook, Lake, and McHenry counties.
For cost of living and services, I’d go with Wausau WI.
