So fucking embarrassing and every creator or critic or journalist or content creator who took part in this nostalgic whitewashing of his horrendous views and statements should be ashamed.

Dare I ask? Because I’ve never heard of this guy before

Aaaaaand there goes my 80s comic hero. Loved his work on X-Men & FF. Trans people are real people, John, and you're fucking dead to me.

That's because you don't pay attention to the good news and it isn't something you care about so you're quick to dismiss and demonize the whole scene. I genuinely don't wish that kind of mentality be applied to anything you enjoy.

Good reminder. I need it sometimes… most times.

chill...some of us love comics, enter the industry& are shocked by the culture, bigotry, & who gets put on a pedestal I personally don't have time to get tight over dismissive ppl (of which there are plenty) that's energy that could be put towards making the good news happen! hope u can do the same

I'm not the one saying burn it all down. There's no industry or scene that doesn't have shitty members or icons. Nor was anyone defending this guy, I think you are the one that needs to chill.

Those are the exception. I try to remind myself of that all the time.

It’s the same kinda shit that keeps Frank Miller getting work. Yeah, he made DKR annd Daredevil over 30 fucking years ago, but he’s not that guy anymore.

Let’s revisit some of the most notorious PUBLIC statements by the *checks notes, new X-Men writer they hired in June

And ofc his infamous quote on Jessica Alba as Sue Storm.

Anyway it’s been FUCK John Byrne since he started posting shit like that on his blog. Shameful for THR who posted the exclusive, shameful for Marvel who announced this during JUNE KNOWING HIS LAST WORST COMMENTS WERE ABOUT TRANS PPL, shameful for every shill who did a John Byrne studio tour!!!

And don’t wanna see any “cancelation” conversation around this dumb shit, the book is made, the pre-orders have sold out. Marvel is publishing it. He’s fine. And we’re allowed to point out he fucking sucks.

Well, fuck him. He's not a true comic book fan, and I'll stand by that statement.

Lest we forget when he testified AGAINST Marv Wolfman FOR MARVEL when Wolfman tried to get his Blade rights back post the movie adaptation. So he’s a fucking scab too! Good night!!! www.facebook.com/ferrandelgad...

I need to point out Byrne Robotics is just his own forum, so he could deleted any of this shit at any time if he had changed or didn’t want it on the internet AND YET

This project is described in the article as being his original ideas for after the Dark Phoenix saga. The original ending planned was for the Shi'ar to turn off Jean's mutant powers. There wasn't agreement about what was going to come next, but Byrne's idea was that since Jean was 10 when --

her mutant powers first manifested, so when her mutant powers are shut off she reverts to the mentality of a 10-year-old girl. Which with his history... ick. Claremont's ideas are more interesting with Jean losing such a big part of herself being traumatic.

Leading to Magneto, then a more black hat villain from the X-Men's POV, offering her a way to get her powers back, which would be a major betrayal of her ideals. Tho Claremont meant for Scott to have a happy ending where he married Jean's clone as if that were the same as having his love back.

Ответ для 🐨☕ posting

I mean she wasnt originally written as Jean's clone to be fair, he just wanted Scott out so Storm could be leader (and who could blame him for that cmon)

Happy Juneteeth 🥰

Which sucks because saying "the human torch being black didn't save the reboot" is just true, but he did it in a racist way. (Then again, that choice was already racist. "Hey, let's make the guy who is on fire a black guy because we think it's funny". Why not sue or Ben or reed?)

Well, that's certainly cause to- oh wait, that's just RECENTLY? Cheeses of Nazareth!

Oh God it's the ultimate X-Men all over again. And to clarify I mean the old ultimate X-Men run not the new one.
