Paris is a way bigger house, but also beautiful. So is Dresden. Wagner's Festspielhaus is certified by the Torture Instruments Society. The most cramped and hard seats anywhere. But that was Wagner - God FORBID someone nod off during something he wrote. My husband is singing in the chorus tonight.

Amusing trivia thanks. Wagner is already a torture instrument to me without sitting down on those seats. X muso here. Rocky, bluesy, jazzy stuff with Latino grooves. Good luck to hubby tonight!

Thanks! I once saw Parsifal in Bayreuth. The soprano started walking across the stage, right to left. It literally took half an hour. When she turned around and started back, I said to myself never, never again. Promise to myself I couldn't keep being married to a Wagner freak. He's a great cook. 😁

Funny you should mention t soprano. I saw the Bolshoi Ballet at Munich Opera🏠. Sitting at t front, every step can be heard distractingly on t boards. T final bow by the prima ballerina was also 30 mins plus! After a while, swanning from left to middle to right and bowing looked comically excessive!
