My favorite part of the Boring Company is the original CGI render promising the future of travel is now private on Youtube because it's so hilariously different from reality they don't want people watching it. "A mile of tunnel a week" from the company that struggled with a mile a year...

Oh man I can't believe that's lost media already. Surely someone has it saved. The CG demo was completely absurd.

I wonder how many people remember watching the original proposal, where YOUR car would be latched into a self-driving skateboard that would autonomously drive you over 100MPH to your destination, whereupon you'd be rapidly lifted to street level on an OSHA nightmare elevator.

I remember posting somewhere that his whole proposal was insane, only for online chuds to chastise me because "people didn't believe Einstein or Edison either." 🙄

My response to people like that is generally some variation of "Yeah, and they didn't believe Stockton Rush either" But yeah, literally no aspect of TBC's proposal -even with their insane super-duper CGI version- made any sense.
