I stated all along, and several times that the failure was one of two things: Either incorrect substrate prep, or incompatible products (base/primer, coating, sealer). It wasn't due to driving on it. It wasn't due to cutting it. I've built a lot things, and am more involved in building than Trump.

I've worked with everything from concrete to fiberglass. I've made my own molds. I even made a forge to make custom metal pieces. I've painted a lot things, including classic car restorations. And I've made a lot of mistakes along the way. You learn from those. Trump's never done any real building.

I once spent months getting all the rust off a 1957 Bel Air. I did lead body work in order to "keep it original to the era" (no bondo). I then painted it. And... the paint failed because I used an incompatible 2K clear. That's a hard lesson. Not all chemicals like each other!

Just for funsies., I was at a nerdy party (Halloween) some time back and someone asked, "Which Ghostbuster are you?" I said I was Ray. My wife objected, "No. You're Egon!". I replied, "Ray was always working on the car." She's then... "Oh shit, you're right. I definitely married Ray!"

Im an API inspector in refineries, petrochemical, all the above and also NACE (AMMP) and all the fun materials engineering. As you’re saying, you can’t just come in a start spraying a coating. Surface preparations, pH, dew point, what in the material you are coating, etc are critical.

And not to even mention that the substrate in question is actually (aged) concrete so if there's any moisture left in it... you got a problem. And that's not going to dry out just because the pool is drained when it's sitting in a high humidity environment. It's has to be covered/controlled.
