In 2026, when thousands of cleaners in Toronto were negotiating a new union contract, Dexterra misled the Union and the Ministry of Labour stating that they no longer had any accounts in the city that fell under the Union collective agreement. 2/3
In doing so they avoided participating in a renewal of their union contract. The result is that workers at Dexterra sites have been denied union wage rates, employer paid benefits and pensions.
