Okay Canada, I've kept quiet for years because my favourite bookshop site was very... French. But in 2026 booksellers.ca finally added the English-language indie stores too, so now I can yell at ALL of you: stop giving Amazon your book money. 🧵

Run by Quebec's indie-bookstore co-op: 150+ shops, 2M+ titles, in both official languages. Real humans pick the books, your money stays local, and nobody's mining your reading habits to sell you a third air fryer.

Better than Amazon (obviously), and yes, better than Indigo: 150 stores with personalities instead of one chain's vibe. I was just waiting for the English rollout to recommend it to everyone. Yes, from Quebec. You're welcome. 😌 #BookSky #CanLit #BuyCanadian

Have given Amazon a wide berth for a long time and especially since the Trump re-election & the tech bro support of that tyrant. I was glad this booksite did a TV ad tonight because it reminded me again to try once more to buy an ebook title & this time, managed to get it.
