Not saying you are doing this! But in my experience lawyers have a hard time decentering their own importance and so we need to be careful in celebrating that importance when we talk to lawyers.
I don't think, for instance, that it's widely known that Ill sanctuary law is the way it is because of anti-deportation activism or that some of the same groups have able to take advantage of the space created by that law to resist the occupation or about that habeas success rate.
