When I did my legal name change (back in the 1990s) the lawyer gave me some advice: “Try to never end up in court; you will lose and the judge will throw the book at you.” It remains good advice to this day.

Mrs Beeton cites the adage "It is a terrible curse to be in a lawsuit where you are in the right."

It’s always unlucky to be a woman in court, except for child custody cases. Women are “supposed” to look after kids after all🙄 Rape is criminally undercharged/tried/won by women I may be wrong, but Stand Your Ground is only available for male defendants. No women have successfully used it.
