PARTICIPATION:
1) Returned from injury: LG Aaron Banks (knee/maintenance), TE Tucker Kraft (knee). 2) Old injuries: Edge Micah Parsons (knee), RB Chris Brooks (hamstring), CB Kamal Hadden (ankle), LS Matt Orzech (calf), C/G Jager Burton (hamstring), OT Brant Banks (hamstring), TE Luke Musgrave (neck), DT Jordon Riley (Achilles), DT Javon Hargrave (knee). 3) According to coach Matt LaFleur, there’s no “long-term concern” for Burton, who barely got started on Day 1 of camp. 4) Hadden is “close” to coming off PUP. The signings of LS Cal Adomitis and WR Kaden Prather are official. They were on the field today. K Lenny Krieg was released. WR Brenden Rice was waived/injured. 2) Tucker Kraft returned to practice on Friday less than nine months after ACL surgery. His rehab went so well that his doctors said he looked like someone who had more than a year of healing. 3) Zach Tom taking the early half-speed snaps. First time the starting right tackle has lined up for any team (11 on 11). 4) Edgerrin Cooper is indeed practicing after dropping out yesterday. Demovsky
PERSONNEL:
While left guard Aaron Banks returned to practice, Jacob Monk took almost all the first-team reps. The No. 1 line for the third consecutive day had Jordan Morgan at left guard, Monk, Sean Rhyan at center, Anthony Belton at right guard and Darian Kinnard at right tackle. Donovan Jennings replaced Monk for the final period. 2) Collin Oliver has worked mostly with the No. 3 defense. He took a few first-team reps, though, opposite Barryn Sorrell or Lukas Van Ness. 3) Similarly, the No. 1 defense started the day with Karl Brooks and Nazir Stackhouse getting the first-team reps. Later, Anthony Campbell – an undrafted free agent last year – joined Warren Brinson and Chris McClellan with the starters. Campbell batted a pass that was almost intercepted. Huber

OFFENSE:
Sturdivant again comes open on a slant and unfortunately for the second straight day drops an uncontested catch. Gotta get that cleaned up if he wants to make the team. Has legit looked good outside the two drops. 2) Isaiah Neyor big play downfield on a deep ball from Taylor. Beat Baldwin easily on the play. St-Juste with a pick 6 of Tyrod on an outside throw to Savion. Defense brought pressure. St-Juste jumped it for the house call. 3) Love with a crazy throw along the sidelines and a phenomenal catch by Golden. However, Darian Kinnard would have been called for a major hold on Brenton Cox. Nixon in coverage. 4) Couple nice first down completions for McCord to Sturdivant on a key third down and later to Neyor. Hit Prather for a first down on a slant as well. McCord led the team down to the opposing 21ish yard line. Nice job overall. 5) Love to Savion along the sidelines on an out route. Tough diving play but catchable. Williams can’t hold on. Incomplete. Christian Watson opens third-goal period with 9-yard TD, wide open on out when Jordan Love rolls boot right. Ups ante on third-goal. Beats Carrington Valentine on 3-yard slant, makes diving catch in end zone and keeps both feet in. He’s gonna be in end zone a lot this year. 2) Matthew Golden just skied to catch a Jordan Love pass between Xavier McKinney and Zaire Franklin in middle of the field for 18 yards. Best catch of camp so far. Golden got ups. 3) Never mind that, Matthew Golden just upped this. Catches a 20-yard fade down right sideline from Jordan Love. Keisean Nixon had great leverage on sideline, but Golden shielded him with his back and caught over his shoulder in same motion. Tremendous body control, best catch of camp, pt 2. [Okay, about Kinnard. Descriptions vary, but Hodkiewicz has Kinnard tied up with Cox, and I think it was Herman had it as Cox might have drawn a hold on Kinnard, and Huber more or less wrote that Kinnard held the crap out of Cox. I don't know which is most accurate but it is at least the third hold noted about Kinnard so far. Kinnard might be better as an OG and emergency RT. TGR]
DEFENSE:
McClellan with an immediate run stuff of Jacobs for no gain. Bull with Pbu on a pass to Reed. Valentine with a PBU along the sidelines on a throw to Golden. So far it’s been Valentine and Nixon with the ones all day and they’ve been really good. 2) Ball to Moore over the middle. Pbu by Nixon. Two nice plays from 25 on the drive! Herman. 3) Oliver with a nice win on a pass rush with the 2’s. [Oliver had been exclusively with the 3s on day 1 and 2. TGR] 4) DDS with a nice pressure inside vs. Williams & Jennings. [So, DDS against the 2s, not starters. TGR] Herman
A pair of PBUs for Keisean Nixon helps stop a 1-minute, end of half drill. Broke up a deep sideline ball for Christian Watson and one over the middle to Skyy Moore after Love had hit Reed and Golden for big gains. Demovsky
A couple plays before Benjamin St-Juste’s interception, his blitz forced an incompletion. 2) Johnathan Baldwin got burned deep by Tyrod Taylor’s pass to Bo Melton but had a sack one play later. It was his second sack of the day. [Cox had a couple of pressures; otherwise all the pressure is from DBs blitzing from the edge and LBs roaring up the A gap. Gannon's scheming doing all the work. TGR] 3) How’s this for a sequence by the No. 1 defense. A tackle for loss by defensive tackle Chris McClellan, a batted pass by defensive tackle Karl Brooks, a pass breakup by Carrington Valentine, a running play in which defensive tackle Jonathan Ford was probably held and a tackle for loss by Lukas Van Ness that was set up by Brooks. PFF grades for long snappers (min 100 snaps) since 2022: Cal Adomitis: 77.8 (15/43) Matt Orzech: 32 (40/43). [Adomitis has played in 58 NFL games and it looks like he might be a real threat. TGR]
MISCELLANEOUS:

Matt LaFleur says a point of emphasis this offseason was offense getting in and out of the huddle quicker. So far, he believes the operation has been better in camp. Wood
On Friday, the players were dressed with what they call "spider pads" underneath their jerseys, another step toward getting to full pads. They'll wear the spider pads again in Sunday's practice before the full pads go on Monday. 2) The top pair of edge rushers with the first-team defense has been LVN and Sorrell, but on Friday the duo of Brenton Cox and Collin Oliver rotated in with the first unit as well. That type of opportunity speaks to how far Oliver, a fifth-round draft pick in 2025, has come in the past year. Spofford

We stand by that conclusion.We’ll get a better gauge of the pass rush as training camp continues. So far, though, the only reliable pass rush has come from defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon’s frequent blitzing. Mostly, Jordan Love has had plenty of time to survey the secondary."
