CheeseheadTV30 июл., 12:14Practice Roundup: July 29, 2026 - Day One! #Packers #GoPackGoPractice Roundup: July 29, 2026 - Day One! Training camp is finally here! Let's have a look at what is happening. Remember, Training Camp starts with a ramp-up period that limits what the players can do and what they can wear. Wednesday the players ran around some but there were no pads or much in the way of hitting. Also, the defense is usually ahead of the offense early in camp. The first three practices of training camp are part of the ramp-up period, so they are not conducted in pads. These are OTA-style practices, but are important, nonetheless. Huber PARTICIPATION: New Packers injuries and practice DNPs: Keisean Nixon (hamstring), Chris Brooks (hamstring), Javon Hargrave (knee), Brant Banks (hamstring), Matt Orzech (calf), Luke Musgrave (neck). Carryover injuries: Micah Parsons (knee), Tucker Kraft (knee), Kamal Hadden (ankle), Jordon Riley (Achilles). Schneidmann [Nixon passed his physical but did not play. It is not clear if he is engaging in a "hold-in" like Elgton Jenkins did last year. I wondered months ago whether Nixon would put up a stink about starting 32 games over the last two years while earning $4.6M in 2025 and a scheduled $5.0M this season. TGR] PUP (10): Micah Parsons, Jordon Riley, Matt Orzech, Nazir Stackhouse, Brant Banks, Luke Musgrave, Tucker Kraft, Kamal Hadden, Aaron Banks, Javon Hargrave. NFI (1) Chris Brooks. That means 80/91 players should be able to practice in some capacity on day One. 2) No long term concern for Javon Hargrave's injury per Matt. 3) Zach Tom is BACK! 4. Jaeger Burton went into the Hutson center earlier. I did not see him with the ones or twos to start team drills. Not sure what happened. Herman (I crossed out Aaron Banks and Stackhouse as they were cleared to play in time of the first practice. Burton felt a tweak and stopped practicing out of caution. TGR) Packers RT Zach Tom, who’s working his way back from last year’s knee injury, was asked if Week 1 is an option. “It’s not an option, I’m playing Week 1.” Tom did some individual drills today but no team. Demovsky Benjamin St-Juste & Skyy Moore are back after missing end of offseason program. Bretl Jacob Monk was back from last January's biceps injury that kept him out all spring, while LB Isaiah McDuffie and CB Benjamin St. Juste were both back on the practice field after sitting out during the spring as well. McDuffie needed core muscle surgery in the offseason and said he's good now. Spofford PERSONNEL: Starters in team: Love Jacobs Watson - Reed - Golden Whyle Morgan - Monk - Rhyan - Belton - Kinnard Defense: Brooks - McClellan - Brinson Cooper - Franklin Cisse - Bullard - Valentine X - Williams Herman You can get a very good impression of camp by reading Andy Herman's tweets. The No. 2 secondary had Benjamin St-Juste and Jaylin Simpson at corner, Johnathan Baldwin in the slot and Kitan Oladapo and Mark Perry as the safeties. 2) One pass-rushing package consisted of Lukas Van Ness and Brenton Cox on the edges and Dani Dennis-Sutton and Karl Brooks as the tackles 3) After missing the offseason practices, 2025 fifth-round pick Collin Oliver was a third-team edge opposite either Arron Mosby or Nyjalik Kelly. Huber Rookie DT Chris McClellan continued getting first-team reps with Devonte Wyatt and Javon Hargrave not getting team reps, a continuation of spring. Can only help him. 2) starting OL without Zach Tom and Aaron Banks: Jordan Morgan-Jacob Monk-Sean Rhyan-Anthony Belton-Darian Kinnard. 3) Matt LaFleur says MarShawn Lloyd doesn't necessarily have a rep count in camp, but learning from past the plan is to "gradually" ramp him up for season. Wood Cisse and McClellan both getting early reps with starters. Cisse and Valentine at CB with Nixon out. McClellan, Brooks or Stackhouse, and Brinson along interior (with Hargraves and Wyatt not participating). Bretl OFFENSE: NEYOR from a Drones Strike. Back of the end zone. Hell of a throw and catch. Super impressive from both. [First wow play of camp - per Spofford]. 2) Tyrod to Moore for a TD in red zone. McCord to Rice for a td in red zone. Nice route and box out from Rice. 3) Jaden Nixon td in red zone from McCord to end practice. That does it for Day 1. Herman On third-and 8 from inside 20, third-string QB Kyron Drones scrambles right outside pocket and finds Isaiah Neyor in back end zone for touchdown. Everyone knows Drones his really impressive athleticism. Showed it on that rep. 2) Christian Watson beats Carrington Valentine and Xavier McKinney, and Jordan Love finds him on crosser in end zone. Wood Good stretch concept and Lloyd does the rest for a TD to pylon. 2) Love and Watson connect over the middle for a 17 yard TD in first team period Hodkiewicz Skyy Moore with a nice grab by the pylon from Taylor for 2’s. 2) Taylor finds Melton on cross after bad shotgun snap. Spofford DEFENSE: DDS once again getting reps as an interior pass rusher. This happened a lot at minicamp and OTAs too. 2) Beautiful rollout from Love to Whyle but X seemed to teleport from safety to make a quick stop. 3) Brenton Cox with some reps with the ones. Same for DDS. 4) Evan Williams pass breakup in red zone. 5) Cisse with really nice coverage on Watson in red zone but Love scrambles for a td. 6) Collin Oliver now getting reps with the ones. Kinnard didn’t have too much trouble. 7) St-Juste working with the 2’s in team. 8) Jonathan Baldwin has been the number two slot corner so far behind Bullard. Baldwin has a legit chance to make the team. 9) Marlon Jones pick 6 off of McCord!!! Herman Barryn Sorrell was the edge opposite Van Ness in first team rep. Schneidmann [So, practically everyone got a turn staring at Edge. TGR] In third and goal drill, Marlon Jones steps in front of a Kyle McCord out route for Will Sheppard and picks it for what would have been about a 100-yard pick 6. 2) MarShawn Lloyd catches a dump off from Jordan Love, but Zaire Franklin strips the football. Would’ve been bang-bang on whether it was an incompletion or fumble, but defense scoops it and goes other way. Wood Edgerrin Cooper blitz off edge. Run went the opposite side but Gannon sending 56. Hodkiewicz Late in the practice, the No. 1 offense had five third-and-goal plays ranging from the 10-yard line to the 2. The defense won all five. First, Jordan Love’s checkdown to Josh Jacobs was low; it wouldn’t have mattered, anyway. From the 6, Love spotted Christian Watson in the end zone but Evan Williams made a leaping deflection. From the 5, Love jogged into the end zone but right tackle Darian Kinnard almost certainly would have been called for holding against Brenton Cox. Huber SPECIAL TEAMS: And the Packers backup long snapper is… Sean Rhyan. 2) With no Orzech, Smack spinning snaps to Whelan in individual punting period Hodkiewicz Lotta new special teams drills. Here’s hoping…Nagler The Packers could have had Trey Smack vs. Brandon McManus and Lucas Havrisik, a pair of veterans with varying experience. Instead, for some reason, it's rookie vs. rookie. Huber MISCELLANEOUS: On a Kraft extension: "These things take time." "I would expect hopefully that would get done." 2) Gute anticipates that Kraft will be out there sooner rather than later. 3) When asked about replacing John FitzPatrick the first name brought up was Josh Whyle. 4) It's a neck injury for Luke Musgrave - the Packers are working through if it's going to be something long term. Said they are always more careful with heads, necks, and heart injuries. Herman Brian Gutekunst says he'd like the starters to get "a couple series" in preseason. He believes it helps once season begins. But preseason snaps will be determined by Matt LaFleur. 2) Brian Gutekunst says it's "very much a possibility" Tucker Kraft will be available Week 1. He anticipates Kraft, 8.5 months post ACL surgery, being off PUP list and back on the field "sooner than later." Wood I think the captains are pretty obvious this year. Love Jacobs Kraft Parsons; Franklin McKinney McDuffie. Schneidmann Zaire Franklin enjoyed his first bike ride to Packers practice, the time the All-Pro linebacker had ridden one in six years. Also wasn’t completely sure of the training camp protocol & asked beforehand if needed to buy one for the occasion. Hodkiewicz [Kind of surprised Franklin did not get trolled by his teammates.
