chimera18 июл., 21:23It's shocking how little the National Question is talked about in the US left. One would think that in a prison house of nations, where indigenous and black people are being oppressed across national lines, this would be front and center.
chimera18 июл., 21:23I've talked about this before, but you cannot take the current US territory and turn it into a socialist state without addressing this question. If these nations aren't given the right to secede or to associate freely you are going to recreate the system of internal colonies.
chimera18 июл., 21:23The territory is held together by colonial violence. Land theft, border policing etc. A socialist state that isn't created through the fight for the right to secede is going to have to maintain this colonial system through force, entirely negating a socialist character.
chimera18 июл., 21:23Beyond the mere necessity of respecting these nations in order to maintain state territory, there are huge, ecological and social benefits to guaranteeing indigenous stewardship over the lands they claim, but I don't want to speak on that because I am not knowledgeable enough.
