Those last 4 are all good things, right? wtf

And even the first one--without the benefit of hindsight, there was no easy way to make a decision about closing schools; and there's evidence that things could've been far worse health-wise if we hadn't (not necessarily for kids themselves, but for the adults they'd infect).

oh sure. it's easy to say online school had a detrimental impact, because it certainly seems like it did but that decision was made for benefit of public health, which can involve sacrifices (like wearing masks or staying home)

I think people need to realize the other option was close the schools completely.

Exactly, the last four are all about opening up schools as soon as possible. The only people to be mad at are the few schools that botched online schooling (and you can’t even blame them until the fall when they had the summer to prep), and that had nothing to do with Fauci.

Well, to be fair "having the summer to prep" didn't happen when they kept telling us we were going to return in person and then the first day rolled around and we didn't.

And also, I just don't have a lot of compassion for kids who didn't thrive on remote learning. It was a global emergency. No one was thriving. It's such magical thinking to pretend if schools were open, the kids would have been doing better. There was death all around us. No one was doing good.

Yes, much harder to be a child without parents.

And while kids constituted 1/5 of reported infections in those first couple of years (before vaccination), and a smaller proportion of deaths they did experience other effects e.g., long covid, even if they had mild or no symptoms (which raises q’s about whether kids were undercounted)

This admin is not known for putting birthed kids’ interests first based on their food, health and gun policies. They can go eff themselves with this Covid culture war bs.

Not for nothing, but the switch to fully remote classes happened during Trump 1, early 2020. So the "they" is very much actually "we" 🤷

God forbid children stay alive!

“Never forget what they did to your kids.” Kept them alive?

Ответ для Steve Mullis

Exactly.

Outrageous BS attack.

I think this is going to get worse with every grim midterm polling result. From GOTV perspective, not sure past pandemic anger will motivate like current economic anger will, though. The CDC isn't making gas prices high or issuing tariffs every other day or pushing data centers on small towns.

Tried to protect them from one of the leading causes of pediatric mortality in 2021?

Oh no, he wanted kids vaccinated. What a monster.

It's a small point but I want to note that the wording erases the reality that many teachers have kids in school! Plenty of my colleagues were experiencing the pandemic in education as parents and educators. It was Not Great.

Um, why would DOed post this? Propaganda much? I don't even understand the revisiting of this.... distracting people from.... ? war killing children in Iran and US soldiers? or Pedophiles getting away with attacking children?? all of the above? Trump was in charge in 2020. People forget that

fauci was a really bad guy bc he didn’t want the dumbest morons’ kids to die. what a monster.

Or the adults in the school with them. Yeah. So awful.

The thousands of pediatric COVID deaths are overwhelmingly unvaccinated children. Long COVID is now the leading chronic illness in children, affecting millions. Leading Dems like Buttigieg & Auchlinloss now insist schools should have been fully in-person in 2020. www.panaccindex.info/p/answered-i...
