I asked myself why disinformation is so effective. While the answer is far from a simple one, it essentially comes to our conditioning as Americans to trust the information that comes from the federal and state governments without a critical eye. It's very difficult to overcome conditioning

1) Disinformation. Constant lies unleashed on gullible people. One part of our media industry having a profit motive to promote them and another part of it being culled into submission so they’re afraid to call it out.

2) Apathy. You know, Trump did not win the plurality of votes of all eligible citizens in 2024. The plurality of all eligible citizens in 2024 didn’t bother to vote. Getting so complacent that you take your freedom for granted. And assuming you could never lose it even if you don’t participate.
